
The Light Academy Chemistry club on Wednesday evening 28th May 2014 conducted a chemical science experiment to the production of ice-cream. Under the guidance of Mr Mehmet Fatih the science teacher Mr Damba Moses the science lab-technician, the students S.1
Class Mohammad Ismail, Anebyone Sharraf, Odukan Wlliam Festo, Alemi Herbert Asiki class carried out the experiment in the process of doing the experiment, materials were required :
- Potassium permanganate
- Potassium dichromate
- Copper II sulphate
- Potassium iodine
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Volumetric take and droppers
- Liquid soap
The procedure included pouring liquid soap into volumetric flask about 200ml. then add 5g of potassium permanganate, KI, CuSO¬¬4 or dichromate. Add Hydrogen peroxide and observe. Then finally a leather/foam shall form and rise rapidly.
