The recently concluded Golden Climate International Environmental Project Olympiad 2015 edition held at Light Academy Mombasa was generally a great experience for all who participated. It was an opportunity to interact with the other schools all over the world as well as a great chance to enjoy the beauty and historically rich scenery of Mombasa city. Light Academy Secondary school presented one project in this edition and was awarded a bronze medal, thanks to Ssewanyana Trevor and Bilal Hussein Ali the participants who represented us, with Mr. Bakyenga Bob (myself) as their supervisor.

The project presented was entitled “Making fuel briquettes from plant waste.” With this project, our participants hoped to save the environment by providing an alternative fuel to charcoal, whose manufacture involves cutting down of trees.
