
The trip was entirely academic in nature and took four days from the 25th – 28th of January 2017
The field trip was for the senior four candidates where 81 students and 24 Senior five geography Students attended the trip with four teachers alongside two supervisors from the hostel.
The trip covered various areas such as Masaka, Mbarara, Bushenyi, Rubirizi, Kasese, Kabarole, Ntoroko, Bundibugyo and Mubende with a number of academic centered areas.
The study covered areas such as hot springs, drainage features, drainage system, landforms, nature of soils and human activities carried out.
Some Study centres included Katwe Salt Pans, Tibet Hima Mining Company, Hydro Power Station of Mubuku, Hot Springs of Kitagata and Sempaya, Mubuku Irrigation Scheme among others.
This was mainly to enable students relate the theoretical studies in class to the facts in the field and also enable them apply the skills such as map drawing, reading observations, interpretation and research skills.
