At Light Academy Secondary School, preparing our candidates for life beyond the classroom goes beyond academics. Our students recently had the opportunity to interact with representatives from different universities, both in Uganda and abroad, as they explored the many possibilities awaiting them after secondary school.
The university representatives introduced students to a wide range of degree programmes, career pathways, admission requirements, scholarships and opportunities for studying locally and internationally. This gave our candidates a valuable chance to ask questions, compare opportunities and begin thinking more carefully about the direction they want to take after S.6.
Our students are also part of a growing Light Academy legacy of pursuing higher education in different parts of the world. Alumni from Turkish Light Academy and Light Academy have gone on to institutions including Makerere University, Uganda Christian University and Victoria University, while the wider Light Academy community continues to see alumni pursue higher education across different countries and continents.
For our candidates, these engagements are more than university presentations—they are opportunities to discover what is possible. With different institutions bringing their programmes and opportunities closer to our students, our learners are gaining the information and confidence needed to make thoughtful decisions about their next chapter.
The classroom may prepare them for the exams, but experiences like these help prepare them for the world beyond them. 🌍🎓
